While
the MR2 Spyder is loaded with standard equipment, there is nothing
standard about the experience of driving one. At the heart of these
2-seat convertible roadsters is a lightweight all-aluminum 1.8-liter
4-cylinder powerplant. With the aid of two cams, 16 valves and Variable
Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), this engine produces 138 horses
-- more than enough power, given the car's curb weight of a mere 2,195
lbs. The 2004 MR2 Spyder comes with a choice of a 5-speed manual transmission
or an available 6-speed sequential manual transmission, Anti-lock
Brake System (ABS), power windows and doors, CFC-free air conditioning,
remote keyless entry and a Deluxe 3-in-1 AM/FM ETR/Cassette/CD player
with four speakers. The complete list of standard features is shown
below.
