Do you love food and travelling? Then, like some of us at Capitol Toyota, you probably heard about Andrew Zimmern, the host of Bizarre Foods. While he isn't filming in exotic locations across the globe, Zimmern is touring the American South in a new 2013 Toyota Venza, trying out some of the area's most tasty dishes in a series called Appetite for Life.
Going to New Orleans, New Orleans, Vicksburg, Tuscaloosa and many places in between, Zimmern and a new Toyota vehicle are making stops at some popular eating spots, as well as some food hubs throughout the South. Zimmern, as he is known to do, will try some exotic food that might not be familiar to all of us in the Salem area. For example, he tried a shrimp and grits dish that adds a twist on two southern classics. There's also the Creole Sauce Piquant served with Turtle meat, a local favorite of the residents of Slipoff Hollow, Alabama.
That is the food portion of the trip. Now let's have a look at the new Toyota Venza Zimmern is travelling with. The crossover, built at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky plant in the U.S. received a mid-cycle refresh for the 2013 model, including new exterior colors and interior trimmings.
The Venza also now comes equipped with loads of technology features, including Entune, an infotainment system that connected portable devices like iPods and smartphones to the center console system with controls set on the steering wheel, giving drivers a way to constantly stay connected while being on the go.
And if you have a look under the hood, you'll find two different engines options for the 2013 Venza: a 2.6-liter I4 and 3.5-liter V6, which has a power output of 268 horsepower. Each comes in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, so you know that the Toyota Venza can handle a wide array of road conditions, depending on what you choose.
