There's a common theme amongst all Toyota models and that's reliability. Capitol Toyota in Salem, OR knows it, Toyota drivers across the country know it and now all the other consumers know it thanks to the latest Reliability Survey published by Consumer Reports.

In the survey published last week, Toyota ranked second place overall, jumping four positions compared to last year's results and beating this year's average reliability score by 47 percent. To put that in perspective, it's important to note that for the study Consumer Reports tested over 1 million vehicles representing 28 brands over a 3-year time span.

Keeping it in the family, Toyota brands Scion and Lexus ranked first and third respectively for reliability. Toyota was the brand that jumped the most spots, and all 3 brands rated well above the average reliability score for 2012. Scion - 72 percent higher and Lexus - 47 percent higher.
