In Toyota's home in Japan, there's a big effort to create hydrogen infrastructure to power new fuel cell vehicles. If you aren't familiar with this technology, hydrogen fuel cells use hydrogen and oxygen to form electric currents within the vehicle. This electricity then powers the vehicle, the only emissions that are produced is water vapor, this form of energy is incredibly safe for the environment.

Because of the environmental benefits associated with this new technology, numerous automakers have been working hard to create this. Our favorite automaker, Toyota, is part of this group, a new hydrogen concept called the FCV will make its debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.

To top it off, this model is expected to make its debut in the new Toyota lineup come 2015. We aren't sure if Toyota will have the hydrogen technology ready for the launch, so stay tuned to the Capitol Toyota blog for more updates regarding this technology.

In the meantime, we encourage you to stop by our Toyota showroom in Salem, Oregon to see some of our hybrid models. We have many alternatively powered models like the Prius, Prius c, RAV4 among others, our sales team can arrange test drives at your earliest convenience.
