In 2012, Toyota put the 'toy" in Toyota when it came up with the Camatte concept for the Tokyo Toy Show within its home nation of Japan. The miniature vehicle was an opportunity for Toyota to showcase its creative side, and also allowed the Toyota brand to reach a younger demographic. This year Toyota has a new toy model and we here at Capitol Toyota have some details.

The model is called the Camatte 57, and even as adults we want to test drive it. It comes with interchangeable parts, and when put together it is a slick looking convertible. The interchangeable parts allow put your individual touch on the vehicle.

The Camatte is powered with a small electric model that's placed within the rear axle. The driver's seat is positioned in the middle and there is room in the back for passengers to ride along. The vehicle is just over 100 inches long and is about 51 inches wide.

While this vehicle is not intended for the open road, we would be excited to see it make its way to production. It would be a good opportunity to get kids involved with the Toyota brand at a young age before they visit our Salem, OR showroom to purchase new Toyota or other used car.

To stay up to date on the Toyota brand, be sure to subscribe the Capitol Toyota blog. We look forward to seeing you at our Toyota showroom sometime soon!
